Can a project be cancelled?

You may cancel a project at any time.

A client may also be able to cancel a project under certain circumstances, such as you failing to deliver on time or not delivering the promised work.

All fund will be returned to the client.

When will I be able to withdraw my money?

Revenues are only made available for withdrawal following a safety clearance period of 14 days after the project is marked as complete. Top Rated Professionals are eligible to withdraw revenue following a safety clearance period of 7 days after the project is marked as complete.

Are there fees to withdraw my money?

Withdrawal fees vary depending on the withdrawal method.

As per website commissions – there are 0(zero) fees.

How long will I have to complete a project?

The amount of time you have to complete a project will vary depending on the client’s needs. You will know the deadline prior to accepting the client’s offer.

How long will I have to bid on a project?

As long as the project is open for bidding, you’ll be able to place your bid. Remember that you may not be the only one that a client invited to bid on his project. So make sure you present a winning bid.

How do I withdraw funds from my account?

To withdraw your revenue, you must have an account with at least one of Freelance-Security’s withdrawal methods. To withdraw your available revenue, you must click on the designated withdrawal provider to initiate the withdrawal process.

  • Withdrawals can only be made in the amount available to you.
  • Withdrawal fees vary depending on the withdrawal method.
  • Withdrawals are final and cannot be undone.

How do I pay the commission?

Can I contact the client directly?

Once bidding has been concluded and you have accepted the project, you will be put in touch with your new client. During the bidding, you may use the message board and private messaging function on the site to discuss the project and obtain any further details or clarification that you need. Any attempts to bypass this and allow contact with the Client directly by posting phone numbers, contact web site addresses or other contact information may result in loosing both parts’ support from our center in case of dispute. Please help support the concept behind Freelance Security to ensure it remains a worthwhile and productive venture for all involved.

I have posted a bid/message but it is not showing up.

After posting a bid or message, please ensure that you refresh your web browser page to ensure you are viewing the latest version. Your bid/message should then be visible.

How do I receive payment?

Payments are made directly through the website. Each user on Freelance Security maintains a running balance of funds which can be added to using a PayPal account. Funds are then transferred via an escrow account that will hold the funds securely until the project is completed to the client’s satisfaction.

Stop receiving new project e-mails

You can choose not to receive new project e-mails by logging into ‘Your Profile’ and then clicking on ‘Profile Details’. Uncheck the box labeled ‘Receive emails about projects that match your categories’ and click the ‘Update’ button.

Won’t the cheapest bid always win?

Not at all. As with all areas of commerce, a customer often gets what they pay for.

In addition, Freelance Security provides a reviews system whereby a freelancer can be rated and assessed by the client after each project. Professionals that gain consistently high ratings are more likely to be chosen by employers.

How will I be selected to work on a project?

At any time during the bidding process, a prospective client can choose the freelancer who best meets his/her needs. Once chosen, you will receive an e-mail asking you to accept the project and commit to the agreed terms.

What's the cost for Freelancers?

Bidding on projects is free. If their bid is successful, a freelancer receives 100% of the agreed bid.

Why should I use Freelance Security?

Are freelancers appropriately licensed?

Freelance Security is an internet marketplace platform for employers of security and investigation services to meet providers of such. The types of services provided by professionals on Freelance Security vary greatly, and the site features consultants from around the globe.

Due to the differing nature of licensing requirements around the world for private investigators, bodyguards, and security consultants, it is not possible for Freelance Security to confirm the type of license required for each project and then verify that all bidders are qualified. Therefore, it is up to the client to confirm that a Freelancer is, where necessary, licensed according to the location and nature of the service required prior to hiring.

When posting a project, how detailed should I get?

We encourage you to give as much detail as possible on your proposed project to ensure that the full scope and detail of the project is understood by the freelancer.

Details can be entered directly and/or by using attachments, such as a PDF document, which bidders can download. However, please do not post any personal information because it will be seen by all users and search engines. Only send personal information to your selected consultant.

Can I contact a freelancer directly?

During the bidding, you may use the message board and private messaging functions on the site to discuss the project and provide any further details.

Once bidding has been concluded and you have chosen a freelancer and he/she has accepted the project, you will both be put in touch.

Any attempts to bypass this and contact the freelancer directly by posting phone numbers, contact website addresses or other contact information may result in loosing our support in case of a dispute. How do I choose a Freelancer?

On your project page, you will see the list of bidders from which you can choose the professional that you would like to work with on your project.

By clicking on “Accept”, an email will be sent to that consultant asking them to confirm that they accept the project. Once they have accepted the project, you will be provided with a workspace so that you can communicate.

Once you are in touch with your consultant, you are advised to obtain all your consultant’s licensing info, if applicable.

How do I pay my freelancer?

You can make payments from your account funds. Each user on Freelance Security maintains a running balance of funds which can be added to using a PayPal account. What if I'm not satisfied with the work?

As in any case where you enter a new contractual relationship with a service provider, you can never be sure that the service you will receive is exactly what you’re looking for. We, therefore, encourage you to check the Freelancer’s reviews and portfolio available on the site.

However, should your chosen professional not live up to your expectations, please remember that Freelance Security only acts as a facilitator.

Any action to enforce your contractual rights should be made between you and your freelancer directly. For further information, please refer to the Terms and Conditions.

My project was closed or disappeared.

Freelance Security does not allow projects that request illegal services. If a project requests a service that Freelance Security determines to involve criminal activity, the project will be closed or deleted.

Requests for phone records in most jurisdictions fall into this category. Check our Terms and Conditions to ensure your project will be allowed.

Can I cancel a project?

You are able to cancel projects in certain situations. For instance:

  • If the delivery is late, you may cancel the project.
  • If the freelancer does not fully complete the project by the deadline.

If a mission is cancelled (for any reason), the funds paid will be refunded to your account.

How long will it take a freelancer to accept my invitation for bidding?

As long as the project is open for bidding. Remmember that you can choose as many freelancers as you find suitable for your task.

What happens if a freelancer rejects my invitation to bid on my project?

If you choose a freelancer to bid on your project and they fail to accept the request (or reject it), remember that you are free to invite as many professionals as you consider appropiate for your task.

How do I get extra funds out of my account?

Can I start a project with no money in my account?

Only registered users can create a project (registration is free). However, you must pay Freelance-Security in advance to create a project to ensure the freelancer will be compensated.

What does it cost to hire a freelancer?

The use of Freelance Security is completely free for one month, meaning you have nothing to lose by posting your project for consultants to browse and bid on. After that, Freelance Security offers affordable payment plans.

Optionally, you may choose to pay the ‘Featured Project’ fee and your project will be ‘Featured’, giving it maximum exposure throughout the site.

Can I use the website from my mobile device?

Yes. Freelance Security has a website designed for minimal effort. People are going mobile more and more these days. Freelance Security has a fully responsive site. It runs fast and is adaptable on every device.

I get a "not found" message when I enter my username.

Please try again and make sure you enter your username in all lower case.

I deposited funds but they aren't in my account.

A delay may sometimes be experienced when making a payment. If your payment has still not been deposited into your account after 12 hours, please contact support.

Can I message another user?

Clients and freelancers can communicate through the workspace once a freelancer has been assigned to the project.

How does 'escrow' work?

The client’s money is held securely and independently by Freelance Security until all parties are satisfied that the project has been completed, at which time the platform releases the funds.

Should any dispute or problem arise, Freelance Security will mediate. By using escrow, the Freelancer knows that the funds are being held for them, but he/she will not have access to the money until the project is completed.

All parties in the agreement can be confident that payment will be made and the project will be completed to everyone’s satisfaction.

How do I delete my account?

To permanently remove your account, please e-mail a request to support@freelance-security.net with your username and password.

How can I update my account information?

To change your email address or other account information, please log into your account, click on your name in the upper-right corner and select “Your Profile”. On that page, click “Account Details” so you can find and change the info as required and then click on the ‘Update’ button to save the changes.

I am logged in, but I'm being prompted to log in again.

How can I change my password?

To change your password, please log into your account. In the up-right corner click on your name, then ‘Your Profile’ and find the ‘Change Password’ on that page. Click on it and provide the new password. You will then have to log in again with your new password.

I clicked the confirmation link, but I'm getting an error message.

With some e-mail services, the e-mail link sent to you when you start to sign up may be broken between two or more lines. In order to sign up, you must use the full web link sent to you. If clicking on the link does not work, please cut and paste all of the link into your web browser to continue.

How do I rate another user?

You are able to rate any client or freelancer that you have completed a project with. Once a project finishes, you both will be asked by the sistem to rate each other.
